The product of two well established wine makers, Eric and Lisa Jensen, who made wines for Saxum and L’Aventure Wines Booker Vineyards was purchased in 2001. They decided on the name Booker to honor the two orphaned brothers, Claude and Dick, who purchased the land in the late 1920’s. In 2005 the vineyard released their first vintage and as of 2021 they received certified organic status. Eric and Lisa are turning Booker into a heavy hitter in the wine world and producing some standout wines worthy of aging or drinking now.

Located in the southern portion of Paso Robles along State Route 46 sits Booker Vineyard. Located a top one of the many hills in this region. If you have the time plan to do their cave tour as it is located below their vineyards that you see from their tasting room.

We decided to enjoy the outdoors during our visit and choose to do the Classic Tasting which included four of their wines (Fracture, Vertigo, Oublie, and Ripper) and a revisit to one at the end of the tasting. Our favorite of the tasting was the Oublie which had notes of Blueberry, Black raspberry, green peppercorn, chocolate, plum, graphite and concrete dust. Medium plus tannin, medium plus acidity, medium plus to long finish and medium body.
